Cape Cod Fly Fishing Guide and Report for Striped Bass on Cape Cod.

Cape Cod Fishing Guide & Report April 24 - May 1st:

Welcome to this week's fly fishing report from Solstice Fly Fishing! Things are looking great! The Cape Cod Bay water temperature is currently at 48 degrees Fahrenheit, which is a promising sign of increasing activity in the coming weeks. However, we expect to see even more action when the water temperature reaches 50 degrees and higher. Nantucket Sound has reached 50 to 52 degrees over the last few days which is indicative of the reports we have been receiving.

Fresh Migratory Striped Bass have arrived to the southside of Cape Cod. We have seen a few fish on our guided trips and have heard many reports of catches along the Cape. That means THEY ARE BACK!! Let the season begin! The numbers of Striped Bass around Cape Cod will increase in the coming weeks as the water temperatures start to warm up.

If you haven’t already tied up some flies for Cape Cod for this season you can talk to us here at Solstice Fly Fishing for flies even if they are not up on our website or just ask us what to tie. We are about a week or two from some hot action around the Cape.

IT IS VITALLY IMPORTANT THAT EVERYONE UNDERSTANDS THAT WE NEED TO PROTECT THE 2015 YEAR CLASS OF STRIPED BASS. THESE FISH WILL BE OUR FUTURE AND WITHOUT OUR PROTECTION THE POPULATION WILL SUFFER. A 2015 YEAR CLASS FISH WILL BE IN AND AROUND THE SLOT LIMIT. BE CONCSIOUS OF WHAT YOU ARE DOING WITH THESE FISH. CATCH AND REALEASE AND KEEP THEM WET
